Small Bites Adventure Club Boosts Veggie Ready Program with Support from the Atlanta Falcons Youth Fund
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Atlanta, GA – Small Bites Adventure Club is thrilled to partner with the Atlanta Falcons Youth Fund (AFYF) - an associate-led fund of the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation - to bring its Veggie Ready program to 200 classrooms across Georgia. The program provides Pre K - Kindergarten students hands-on experiences with fruits and vegetables, helping them discover, eat, and love healthy foods.
Designed to graduate both Veggie Ready educators and students, the five-month program equips children ages 4 - 7 with essential food skills that prepare them for a lifetime of adventurous eating. Veggie Ready lessons integrate math, literacy, and social-emotional standards and include step-by-step recipes, classroom activities, digital tools, stickers, and fresh ingredient deliveries.
“We’re incredibly grateful to the Atlanta Falcons Youth Fund for believing in the power of early, positive food experiences,” said Erin Croom, Co-Founder of Small Bites Adventure Club. “There are over 100,000 Georgia children entering first grade next fall, and I’d love to see more of them equipped with basic food education skills, the confidence to create healthy snacks, and the knowledge to identify Georgia-grown vegetables. Teachers are so busy, and that's why we've developed the Veggie Ready program to make it easy for them.”
With nine out of 10 children in the U.S. not eating the recommended amount of vegetables and some going days without a single serving, Small Bites helps more children receive real food experiences. With this generous $250,000 investment, Small Bites will recruit 200 Pre-K and Kindergarten Georgia classrooms to participate in Veggie Ready, empowering more educators and families to inspire lifelong healthy habits, one small bite at a time.
“Small Bites Adventure Club has developed an incredible program to help kids discover and enjoy healthy foods at a young age, and we are thrilled to help bring the Veggie Ready program to schools in Georgia,” said AMB Sports and Entertainment Senior Vice President, Community Engagement and Sports Philanthropy Chris Millman. “The Atlanta Falcons Youth Fund strives to provide children with access to fresh fruits and vegetables, and we are proud to partner with Small Bites Adventure Club on this project that does just that.”
